I'm having some trouble extracting the relevant information as I'm unfamiliar with the data structures and how to cycle through each individual agent in the agentset. I need to check the attributes of a neighbouring turtle, perform a calculation on it's attributes and then choose if the acting turtle wishes to eat the neighbouring turtle. As far as the course overall is concerned the focus is on agent-based models.I'm building a model loosely based on the Sugarscape model to look at corporate takeovers. NetLogo offers a simple system dynamics framework that allows one to understand how system dynamics models work.Īs far as these two modeling paradigms are concerned, that's about all I want from an alternative. NetLogo does not support discrete event modeling, but as we saw it's easy to build a simple discrete event modeling framework in NetLogo that lets us understand how discrete event modeling works. The task is to ask: If we replace NetLogo with a given alternative platform would it be easier or harder to implement arbitrary Agent-Based models of the sort that can be implemented in NetLogo and that we examined in the course. Showing that some carefully selected NetLogo models can be implemented on the platform you are examining won't cut it. The task is to determine whether all NetLogo models can be implemented easily on a given platform. The task is not to determine whether selected NetLogo models can be implemented on a given platform. Instead look for platforms with similar power and convenience but with fewer of NetLogo's failures. So don't underestimate the power and convenience of NetLogo. It has no other data structures besides AgentSets and Lists. One should be dropped and the other expanded to include the capabilities of both.) It supports AgentSets but no other kinds of sets. (For example ask and foreach are really equivalent. It has too many ways to do the same thing. It actively fights users who attempt to format their code. Its multi-file capabilities are primitive, and it has virtually no mechanisms for breaking code up into modules. Its syntax in which code blocks are indicated with square brackets is both confusing and inconsistent. Its no-shadowing rule rules out variable names one wants to use. It has very bad compile-time and run-time error messages. On the other hand NetLogo as an IDE sucks.

Tastewise, it was a delicious combination of slightly charred, smoky, salty and spicy. I liked that it was grilled to crispiness on the outside, while the meat remains really tender on the inside. ![]() The chicken was grilled to perfection and the spicy sauce complemented it really nicely. ![]() Service aside, food was really good, and that’s the most important part for me! □ They weren’t rude though, despite the peak rush period stresses, at least there’s that. When they reluctantly came over to take our requests, we only got our requests fulfilled maybe half of the time despite them saying they’d get to it. I also sensed that the staff were quite stressed and slightly irritable, they tried their best to ignore me whenever I tried to call them. Only downside was that because it was so busy, the side dishes ran out really quickly and we couldn’t get anymore kimchi or seaweed (the side dishes which were refillable). Pretty worth it as we were using the Fuzzie app which gave us 30% off. With the combo, it came with a main meat dish, hot stone rice, and side dishes (the usual korean sides). Perhaps because it was the last day we could dine out before Phase 2 Heightened Alert kicked in, hmm. We visited on a weekday evening, and it was really packed - we had to wait for an hour in order to be seated. The soup was really very very flavourful, and not spicy at all really. ![]() Oh wow, I never knew tofu could be so soft, smooth and silky! It had such a soothing mouthfeel. UNAGI: Unagi is surprisingly very soft & tender with slight smoky taste, unlike the usual pre-packed version sauce is not salty & not overpowering the unagi taste with a layer of onion slices at the bottom to prevent the unagi skin from being burnt.ĬOCKLES BIBIMBAP: Deconstructed bibimbap a plate of well-marinated cooked cockles with hot stone white rice, a big bowl with some seaweed & a small bottle of sesame oil mixed all ingredients in the hot stone pot instead of in a separate bowl as my preference for some charred crispy rice at the bottom cockles no "bloody" taste & not rubbery though fully cooked right amount of seasoning giving wide dimension of taste simple yet appetizing dish. OYSTER/SEAFOOD SUNDUBU: Both soup are flavorful & rich in seafood taste opted for spicy but not as spicy as I expected with generous portion of seafood: prawn, mussels, clams, squid, flower crab, oysters tofu is very soft & smooth with an egg in the middle portion smaller in combo set as compared to ala-carte probably 1 of the better tofu soup I've tried. Super crispy, could finish almost in its entirety. Bulgogi was quite enjoyable too! We also really loved the deep fried yellowtail which was served as a banchan and happily added on another at $2. Rich, tasty and not too spicy (good that we had the option to choose spiciness level). The tofu was so good - if only they sold them for home cooking □ came also with hot stone bowl rice (scoop them into the metal bowl unless you love that crispy layer of rice stuck below - of which you’re recommended to add corn tea to get nurungji!) We had the bulgogi + soontofu combo ($32.9) and opted for another assorted soontofu so we could have a bit of everything - beef, clam, crab, shrimp and squid in the soup. Finally got a chance to dine in and while it was delish, the whole dining in process was painfully slow - terribly long wait for a weird lunch hour on the weekend. We’ve had SBCD’s soontofus a couple of times but always had it delivered. Now I understand why the Koreans always do this at the end of their meal. I love it, the scorched rice is cripsy and crunchy. I purposely pour some of the soup into the hot stone at the end of the meal to scrap out the scorched rice. SBCD is quite generous, there's a lot ingredients int he soontofu. The tofu is very different from the tofu we ate at other soontofu restaurant, we guess that they made the tofu inhouse. WB opt for the crazy hot and yet it's not very spicy for him. There's 4 levels of spiciness from mild to crazy hot. I had the seafood while WB had the intestine soontofu. Everything except the yellow fish is refillable. ![]() The side dishes includes fried yellow fish, kimchi, pickled cucumber, dried seaweed and fermented squid. Side dishes and hot stone rice are served for every soontofu or combo meal ordered. 4⭐ Purchased Klook 1 for 1 SBCD $50 voucher but end up we didnt use it as the 2 $50 vouchers have to be utilised together. ![]() Tap on the newly-created icon in the top-right corner of the browser and then sign in with your Google account.Android Messages recently allowed users to send and receive text messages by connecting a smartphone to a computer browser, similar to the features in Whatsapp and Telegram. Plus, there is hardly any effect on my computer. It's like Bitdefender knows a threat when it sees it and doesn't bother me to double-check. I'm always amazed at how well Bitdefender stops malware files before they start the download process, and most threats get automatically scrubbed from my computer without ever needing to hit the quarantine folder. When you visit a known gaming site, Avast places it on its gamer list and automatically suspends all non-essential processes, so you have all the resources you need while playing. My favorite feature of all Avast computer protection programs is the automatic gamer mode. That way, they can't be swiped by keyloggers as you sign into online accounts. It also has a password manager that keeps all your usernames and passwords secure. That makes it difficult for adware and internet trackers to target you with ads or sell your browser history. Predator, in which it is referred to using its Norwegian name "Bouvetøya" even though in the unrated edition of the film, a satellite focuses in on the island which is geographically situated in the approximate location of Peter I Island. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place for you. An unmanned weather station on the island is reportedly still intact.īouvet is the setting of the 2004 movie Alien vs. A replacement station is being planned (2009). Later investigations indicated that a landslide or ice avalanche swept the building off its foundations. On October 19, 2007, the Norwegian Polar Institute announced that the station was no longer visible on satellite photographs. In 1994, the Norwegians constructed a field station – a container building of 36 square metres (388 square feet). This flash, since dubbed the Vela Incident, is still not completely resolved. On September 22, 1979, a satellite recorded a flash of light (which was later interpreted as having been caused by a nuclear bomb explosion or natural event such as a meteor) in a stretch of the southern Atlantic Ocean between Bouvet Island and Prince Edward Islands. An automated weather station was, however, set up in 1977 by the Norwegians. During the 1950s and 1960s, there was some interest from South Africa to establish a weather station, but conditions were deemed to be too hostile. ![]() In 1971, Bouvet Island and the adjacent territorial waters were designated a nature reserve. ![]() In 1964, an abandoned lifeboat was discovered on the island although its origin has never been determined. In 1930 a Norwegian act was passed that made the island a dependent area subject to the sovereignty of the Kingdom (but not a part of the Kingdom). The United Kingdom waived its claim in favour of Norway the following year. The island was claimed for Norway by expedition leader Lars Christensen on 1 December 1927 By a Royal Norwegian Decree of January 23, 1928, Bouvet Island (Bouvetøya in Norwegian) became a Norwegian Territory. The first extended stay on the island was in 1927, when the Norwegian crew of the ship Norvegia stayed for about a month. Bouvet Island is according to Norwegian law in the UTC+01 time zone. There is no telephone country code or area code, no telephone connection (except through satellite) and no postal code nor postal distribution. It also has an amateur radio prefix, 3Y, and a few amateur radio expeditions have travelled to the island to use it. As such the island is part of the Scotia Sea Islands tundra ecoregion, along with South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, the South Shetland Islands and the South Orkney Islands.ĭespite being uninhabited, Bouvet Island has the unused Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD). The 29.6 km (18.4 miles) of coastline are often surrounded by pack ice. The glaciers form a thick ice layer falling in high cliffs into the sea or onto the black beaches of volcanic sand. The easiest way to access the island is with a helicopter from a ship. Wave action has created a very steep coast. To the northeast, it is about 2,500 kilometres (1,600 mi) to Cape Town.īouvet Island has no ports or harbours, only offshore anchorages, and is therefore difficult to approach. The nearest land is Queen Maud Land, Antarctica, which is over 1,750 kilometres (1,090 mi) away to the south, and which does not have a permanent population but is the site of a Norwegian all-year research station. A number of rocks and very small satellite islands lie offshore, including Lars Island to the southwest. It is 49 km2 (19 sq mi) in area, 93% of which is covered by glaciers, which block the south and east coasts. Those that make use of the large thermal mass of a concrete slab floor or lightweight concrete over a wooden subfloor are called "wet installations,” and those in which the installer "sandwiches" the radiant floor tubing between two layers of plywood or attaches the tubing under the finished floor or subfloor are called "dry installations." Types of Radiant Floor Heat Air-Heated Radiant FloorsĪir cannot hold large amounts of heat, so radiant air floors are not cost-effective in residential applications, and are seldom installed. You can further categorize these types by installation. There are three types of radiant floor heat - radiant air floors (air is the heat-carrying medium), electric radiant floors, and hot water (hydronic) For this reason, the following sections discuss radiant floor heat and radiant panels separately. Radiant floor heating systems are significantly different from the radiant panels used in walls and ceilings. For more on the different types of energy sources and heat distribution systems for home heating, explore our Energy Saver 101 infographic on home heating.ĭespite its name, radiant floor heating depends heavily on convection, the natural circulation of heat within a room as air warmed by the floor rises. Hydronic systems can use a wide variety of energy sources to heat the liquid, including standard gas- or oil-fired boilers, wood-fired boilers, solar water heaters, or a combination of these sources. Hydronic (liquid-based) systems use little electricity, a benefit for homes off the power grid or in areas with high electricity prices. People with allergies often prefer radiant heat because it doesn’t distribute allergens like forced air systems can. It is more efficient than baseboard heating and usually more efficient than forced-air heating because it eliminates duct losses. Radiant heating has a number of advantages. When radiant heating is located in the floor, it is often called radiant floor heating or simply floor heating. Radiant heating is the effect you feel from the warmth of a hot stovetop element from across the room. The systems depend largely on radiant heat transfer - the delivery of heat directly from the hot surface to the people and objects in the room via infrared radiation. Radiant heating systems supply heat directly to the floor or to panels in the wall or ceiling of a house. ![]() The inner workings of the Rolex company are cloaked in mystery, much like the complicated movements of its watches, which are invisible to the wearer. And could I buy my wife a watch there before her birthday in May? “Then grey market dealers buy them all up and sell them at a premium.” What was this grey market, I wondered. “Rolex produces a million watches a year,” wrote one follower. I scrolled through Rolex’s Instagram account and found the comments section festering in conspiracy. The store looked like a gang of ram raiders had just left and, when I found the same thing at other boutiques, something didn’t feel right. They didn’t have any Rolex watches at all. They didn’t have any Oyster Perpetuals, he said with a shrug. Only buy a watch from a gray market seller if the watch is indeed original with all serial numbers intact so, after the warranty period, ADs and manufacturers will then service it without any major issues. At Ben Bridge Jeweler in a mall in Thousand Oaks, California, I found only empty cabinets and an apologetic salesperson. So, I got a slight discount on the watch purchase but ended up on the short end of the stick. At that point, neither an AD nor TAG-Heuer will touch the watch for ANY kind of service. I don't believe they still do that but, at the time, they were classic gray market. My problem is that they sold the 6000 after removing the serial number which I did not know they were going to do and I unfortunately discovered it way too late to return it. So they will repair or replace during the warranty period which is actually pretty good customer service. did that when I bought my first 6000 Chronograph back in the mid-90s. There are various magazines and internet sites that present a tear-down of a product such as an iPhone. So, yes, a manufacturer probably sells to a distributor at a price and the distributor doubles the price and sells it to the AD who doubles the price to the MSRP and sells it at that price to us according to their AD agreement. The AD can be penalized with less product in the future or dropped as an AD.Īs a consumer, I believe that is simply price fixing and the manufacturer controlling the price where they should not be allowed to but it seems the market does what the market wants without regards to honesty, fairness and free enterprise.
